HOW TO RESOLVE INNER & OUTER CONFLICT THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF MEDITATION With Resident Teacher Holly McGregor
Anger distorts our view and disrupts our health,
happiness & relationships. Through contemplation & meditation, we can learn to listen in a deeper way to ourselves & others. We can discover the inner problem that anger is trying to get us to pay attention to. We can then take appropriate action from a calm, centered place in our heart.

Join Watson Adventures on a unique scavenger hunt for adults and kids ages 7 & up!
If you enjoyed “Night at the Museum”, you’ll love this adventure, which features exhibits in the Museum of Natural History that inspired scenes in the hit movie. Kids and adults work together to take on Dexter’s capuchin monkey cousin, a not-so-woolly mammoth with tooth trouble, personal items that belonged to Teddy Roosevelt, a dance that Sacagawea would have done, a scary Easter Island statue, an attack by a monster whale, a slice of a giant tree, humongous warring mooses, Aztec and Incan warriors, dangerous dinosaurs and more. Please note that if you would not take your kids to see “Night at the Museum”, then you should not take them on this hunt. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, and vice versa—teams with only adults are not permitted on this hunt. Price, which includes museum admission: Ages 7 to 17, $27.50 per person, 18 and up, $32.50 per person. Advance purchase is required via http://www.watsonadventures.com. Questions? Call 877-9GO-HUNT, but please do not contact the museum directly.

Description
The first and only female to win the title of Top Chef, Stephanie Izard is an extraordinarily creative Chicago-born cook who creates unusual and addictive flavor combinations that “make your whole mouth happy”. On Saturday, February 4th, Stephanie will be visiting the James Beard House to read excerpts from her recently published book, The Girl in the Kitchen, which details more than 100 of Izard’s best recipes- from innovative appetizers like Asian-Spiced English Peas to luscious desserts like Quince and Fig Cobbler with Vanilla Mascarpone. Beautifully photographed and bursting with flavor, personality, and insight into this top chef’s regular routine, Girl in the Kitchen represents the culmination of a craft and provides inspiration that reaches far beyond the kitchen walls.
Beard on Books, an ongoing monthly literary series featuring readings and discussions with some of the food world’s most celebrated authors, is free to students with a suggested donation of $20 for nonstudents. Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino waters, Lavazza coffees, Mighty Leaf Tea, and Green & Black’s® Organic Chocolate will be served. Sweets provided by Three Tarts. Guests are also welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch. Book signing will follow readings and discussions, and books will be available for purchase from Mobile Libris. To RSVP, please call James Beard Foundation Reservations Manager Colleen Vincent at 212.627.2308.
