Description
Modern Greek is spoken by over 15 million people world-wide in Greece and various other countries in the European Union. This course provides a beginners introduction to Modern Greek and requires no prior knowledge of the language. Modern Greek 101 will introduce the alphabet, greetings and introductions and how to describe various daily activities. Description
No conflict in the world today has effects and consequences as far reaching as the conflict between Israel and the Arabs in the Middle East. The conflict spills over the boarders of small territories to involve the US and Western Europe, the whole Arab world and the further Muslim world beyond. Israel/Palestine has been the centre of struggles and oppression for centuries, going back to biblical times. The Romans occupied it and expelled the Jews, the Arab Muslims conquered and converted it, the Christians sent several Crusades to take it from the Muslims and the country became intricately involved in both World Wars. Since then there have been three Arab/Israeli wars and numerous civilian uprisings and civil wars amongst neighbours. Peace seems to be no closer today than at any time in the last 3000 years. This course surveys all the forces at play over the centuries and how they are playing out today. Details of this event may be subject to change. Description
The “Performance Tuning in RAC” seminar is spread over four modules of about 2 hours each over two days and aims exclusively at training the Oracle DBA in improving the performance of the RAC system. The foundation of any tuning depends heavily on the proper diagnosis.
So, this seminar starts with the building the knowledge on the RAC system, with respect to performance, and gradually prepares the student to unravel the mysteries surrounding performance issues.

Unter dem Oberbegriff Text Mining werden verschiedene Technologien zur inhaltlichen Erschließung von (unstrukturierten) Texten verstanden. Diese Technologien umfassen einerseits Termextraktionen und Aggregationen als Basis für semantisches Indizieren, Retrieval und Cluster-Lösungen, andererseits geht es um die Kategorisierung von Dokumenten, die Abstract-Generierung bis hin zum Aufdecken von Mustern und Beziehungen zwischen Termen durch Textanalyse. Die Ergebnisse können in einem „Document warehouse“ mit Methoden aus dem Umfeld des Semantic Web präsentiert und mit Visualisierungstools dargestellt werden.
